Mary Kom (48kg) got the better of Filipino Josie Ga-buco 4-1 in a battle of attri-tion to come up trumps. Women stole the thunder from men by picking up five gold medals after the men were thwarted by boxers from Cuba and Uzbekistan. Pwilao Basumatary (64kg) claimed a 3-2 win over Thai-land's Sudaporn Seesondee. Lovlina Borgohain bagged Mary Kom (R) punches Altantsetseg Batsaikhan on Wednesday —PT1 the welterweight (69kg) gold, getting the better of Pooja. Pinki Jangra (51kg) regis-tered a unanimous victory over Mongolia's Jargalan Ochirbat. Manisha (54kg) added to the gold rush for women by winning the all-India final against M Meena-kumari. —PT1
